Theatre Jacksonville will present “Welfarewell,” a play about a fading actress who gets herself arrested in order to receive three meals per day in jail, beginning Oct. 14. The powerful drama will place a spotlight on the issue of poverty and hunger in our world. The production is sponsored by Acosta Sales & Marketing, a longtime supporter of Second Harvest North Florida.

ImageA food drive will also be held to benefit Second Harvest member agency Clara White Mission.

Supporting this event and food drive is a terrific way to support the efforts of one of Second Harvest’s vital member agencies in our collective effort to combat hunger in north Florida. Second Harvest is proud to support the Clara White Mission and its efforts to assist homeless and vulnerable members of our community.

Attendees of “Welfarewell” are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to a performance of the show, scheduled for Oct. 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28 and 29.
