Thanks to the efforts of Black Diamond Performance Reporting, Winn-Dixie and a $22,500 gift from Wells Fargo, Second Harvest North Florida will provide ready-to-prepare meals for 1,750 Jacksonville families during an event on Friday, Nov. 16.
On Friday, Nov. 16, Second Harvest North Florida will team with employee volunteers from Black Diamond Performance Reporting and Wells Fargo to distribute 1,750 ready-to-prepare Thanksgiving dinners to low-income families in Jacksonville.
The distribution will begin at 9 a.m. and meals will be distributed to individuals and families who have pre-registered with Second Harvest North Florida member agencies.
All meal packages will consist of a frozen turkey, canned vegetables, boxed potatoes and stuffing, as well as canned fruit. Other perishable items, such as bread and produce, are likely to be distributed as well – depending on availability.
The employees of Black Diamond Performance Reporting have graciously provided the ingredients for side dishes for all 1,750 Thanksgiving dinners. Wells Fargo Bank is also donating $22,500 to Second Harvest, which will be used to purchase the frozen turkeys. Winn-Dixie will donate breakfast snacks and refreshments for the individuals waiting in line to receive Thanksgiving meals.
Second Harvest North Florida is proud to offer this annual tradition and thankful for the community sponsors who make it possible.
