This September marks the second Hunger Action Month, an opportunity to place a spotlight on the issue of domestic hunger while creating opportunities for people on the First Coast and abroad to participate in the ongoing battle against it – either through volunteering, giving or advocacy.
This September marks the second Hunger Action Month, an opportunity to place a spotlight on the issue of domestic hunger while creating opportunities for people on the First Coast and abroad to participate in the ongoing battle against it – either through volunteering, giving or advocacy.
The effort is sponsored by Feeding America, a national association of food banks of which Second Harvest is a member, to raise awareness for the fight against hunger - and to show people just how big a contribution can make when they consider how much they spend each month on certain non-essentials, then donate an equal amount of money to provide meals.
