JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Donating with The Blood Alliance (TBA) during the months of October, November and December 2011 meant that with one blood donation, donors would help raise money for local breast cancer research, feed local families in need, raise money for wounded warriors, and fund pediatric research for children with deadly myopathies. The Blood Alliance, enriching lives since 1942, presented checks with its community partner Comcast Business Class, on Tuesday, Feb.

The mission of Second Harvest North Florida is to end hunger across the 17 counties it serves and reach the more than 342,000 individuals who wake up each morning feeling the effects of food insecurity. More than 117,000 of those are children.
The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks will hold a free preseason benefit scrimmage for the second consecutive year in support of Second Harvest North Florida.
