JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – At a time when more and more families in Florida face the threat of going hungry, Second Harvest North Florida announced today that Chase will donate of two state-of-the-art refrigerated food delivery trucks, supplying the First Coast’s hungry with fruits, vegetables and other fresh foods. Chase also generously donated funds to operate each of these trucks for the first year.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - On Monday, April 5, Second Harvest North Florida and Shands Jacksonville launched an expanded Nutrition for Mothers, Nourishment for Babies Healthy Food Program at the Shands OB-GYN clinic.
A kickoff event at the hospital featured a cooking demonstration by Chef Jessica Bright, a local television and radio personality, as well as distribution of healthy food products to all women who attend their appointments that day.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - For the third consecutive year, the Jacksonville community has set a new standard for generosity in the National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive. This year’s event produced more than 351,000 pounds of much-needed nonperishable food resources for people in need on the First Coast.
On Saturday, May 8, volunteers and Second Harvest staff joined forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers and residents of the First Coast for the 18th Annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive - a national event that produces hundreds of thousands of pounds of much-needed food resources that will go to people in need in North Florida.
