Since 1992, the Taste of the NFL has rallied the country's top chefs and the NFL's greatest to raise money in support of food banks throughout the United States. The Jacksonville Jaguars have supported Second Harvest North Florida through this "party with a purpose," helping to raise nearly $800,000 in support of hunger relief efforts here on the First Coast. This year's event will be the first with Ann and Shad Khan as hosts. It will be held at the luxurious Upper West Touchdown Club at EverBank Field.
Northeast Florida’s most prestigious culinary competition returns to the gorgeous TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in the spring of 2012. Once again, eight of the city’s top chefs (four chefs per team) will gather to cook and compete, all to the delight of a hungry audience.
We’re excited to announce that all the chefs who competed last year have signed on once again to battle it out in 2012. Team City consists of Tom Gray from Bistro Aix, Matthew Medure from Matthew’s, Dennis Chan from Blue Bamboo and Scott Ostrander from ‘Town. Team Beaches is made up of Ted Peters from Azurea, David Medure from Restaurant Medure, Danny Groshell from Ocean 60, and William Murphy from TPC Sawgrass.
Come sample the best of Jacksonville's street food culture and vote on the Jax Truckies People's Choice Champion, Saturday, March 31 at Bold City Brewery. Food trucks will be selling select menu samples so attendees can experience the food truck craze sweeping the nation. You don't need to travel to Austin, Texas, or Portland, Oregon. The food truck revolution is going on right here in Jacksonville, Fla. Local food is better food!
This is a ticketed event. Food tickets purchased separately from admission price. Food tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $1 each or 20 tickets for $18. If you can't make the VIP Happy Hour benefiting Second Harvest North Florida, canned food donations will be accepted and delivered directly to Second Harvest. The mission of Second Harvest North Florida is to distribute food and grocery products to hungry people and to educate the public about the causes and possible solutions to problems of domestic hunger.
