More than 350,000 pounds of food was donated to Second Harvest North Florida through the NALC event in 2010 - the event's largest Jacksonville total ever - and the goal is to secure even more pounds in 2010.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. and the Jacksonville Jaguars today launched the 16th annual food drive to benefit Second Harvest North Florida. The local grocer and NFL team are calling upon First Coast residents to donate nonperishable items at Winn-Dixie stores in North Florida until Nov. 7. To kick off the food drive, Winn-Dixie donated a truck loaded with 52,000 pounds of food at a fall festival with special appearances by Jaguars players, The ROAR cheerleaders and Jaxson de Ville.
