2012 Second Harvest Financial Donors

Longtime partner Winn-Dixie answers call, donates 50-foot trailer and 13,000 pounds of food to Second Harvest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Second Harvest North Florida has a new tool in the battle against hunger, thanks to a generous donation by Winn-Dixie Stores. The Jacksonville-based grocer donated a 50-foot refrigerated semi-trailer on Wednesday, Sept. 5. The trailer was loaded with approximately 13,000 pounds of food to help restock the food bank’s warehouse, which is experiencing a depleted inventory as the summer months wane.

Dixie Eggs Company sends 300,000 eggs to Second Harvest to help with critical food shortage, spiking demand

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The inventory of shelf-stable and perishable food in the Second Harvest North Florida warehouse is at its lowest level in more than two years as a result of spiking demand by families struggling to make ends meet. To help, Dixie Egg Company responded with a generous donation of more than 300,000 Grade A brown eggs to provide an important boost of protein-rich food.

20th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive brings in nearly 258,000 pounds of nonperishable food items

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville community rose to the occasion during the National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive on Saturday, May 12 – donating nearly 258,000 pounds of much-needed nonperishable food resources for people in need on the First Coast.
