The Winn-Dixie Food Drive at the Jacksonville Suns
Second Harvest North Florida is teaming with the Jacksonville Suns and Second Harvest North Florida for the Winn-Dixie Food Drive on Saturday, Aug. 11 at The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
During the game against the Mobile BayBears, fans can bring canned goods and nonperishable food items to the game in support of Second Harvest. All fans making a donation receive a free Suns oven mitt!
Tickets are on sale through the Suns box office at 904.358.2846 or online at www.jaxsuns.com. Tickets are $7.50 for general admission, $10.50 for reserved seating and $13.50 for home plate box seating. The Suns are the Double-A Affiliate of the Florida Marlins and a member of the Southern League of Professional Baseball.

ELKTON, Fla. - Second Harvest North Florida teamed with Bank of America to provide emergency food relief for hundreds of school children and their families at South Woods Elementary School in Elkton on Friday, Aug. 19.

Second Harvest announces 42 Kids Cafe after-school sites for 2011-12
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Second Harvest North Florida Kids Cafe Program will operate 42 sites during the 2011-12 school year as part of the Afterschool Snack Program, a subcomponent of the Child Care Food Program provided through the Florida Department of Health. The Kids Cafe sites offer low-income children in their neighborhoods a safe place to find nourishment, have positive role-models and participate in educational and social development activities. The program is designed to provide nutritious snacks to children at no separate charge.
